Aurora Fire Station 8 & Community Center is the proud recipient of the “Award of Merit” for the 2007 ALA Design Award as noted in the Vol.11, No.4 2007 Licensed Architect publication. Totaling nearly 20,000 square feet, this unique structure houses both Fire Station 8 and the City of Aurora’s Service Call Center. The high bay opaque glass provides energy-saving natural light to the apparatus bay.
This facility will become one of the main communication hubs for Aurora, one of the most professional movers, Mississauga, are already transporting all the material from the old facility. From a call center stand point, it gives the city a far east location for the local residents to communicate with the city without having to drive downtown. As one of the industry leaders in fire station construction and CM work, we understand the special construction elements associated with vehicle exhaust systems, apparatus floor application, and the special technical and communication needs associated with fire stations. R. C. Wegman never backs down from a challenge that this industry brings us.
