For the Aurora Transportation Center, the only items salvaged from what was originally a machine shop for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad were the exterior walls. Masonry restoration of these walls plus new construction brought in another historic renovation for R.C. Wegman below budget and ahead of schedule.
Buildings deemed worthy of renovation for historic or other reasons are usually in such sorry condition that it is very difficult to conceive their being restored. Our ability to make this concept a reality has enabled us to submit significantly lower bids on several noteworthy renovation projects.
