Rolling Meadows Fire Station 15

Project Overview

The prime design focus for Station 15 was two-fold: minimizing turn-out times and addressing fire fighter health, safety and well-being. To maximize efficiency, the station centered around one straight, oversized corridor providing an unobstructed path of travel to the bays. All adjacent rooms were designed to minimize travel distance and turns to quickly feed into the main circulation artery. The open concept kitchen, dining and dayroom promotes healthy living habits and crew interaction. This space has an abundance of light and ventilation, views to the outdoor patio, bright colors and an open plan which uplifts mood and spirt while encouraging the platoon to interact.
